50-year-old glasses still going strong. Needed new ones because after 50 years Things Happen(tm).
I grew up with these glasses, the shorter ones, and the little glass tubs. They were older than I am now when I was born. Despite this, it took them at least 50 years to break down: here's why they broke:The caps used to be red, hard plastic. It was easy for a slightly clumsy five-year-old to bend these 30-year-old caps in such a way they broke - by the time I was born that had happened to all but two anyways.Normal household accidents. Two my grandfather cracked with his lovely habit of turning a heavy jade ring around so that the stone would tap against the glass as he drummed his fingers against his coke - one of them broke in the and-that's-why-we-don't-put-pots-in-with-normal-wash incident that led to my mother never letting guests help wash/load again. The other's crack went right through the glass last year when I knocked it against the side of the fridge - water leaked right out, the glass emptied in seconds. I use it for pencils now and regularly slam all sorts of things into it from nice inking pens to charcoal and graphite stubs.Normal sleepwalking/stumbling-around-for-water-in-the-dark accident: One broke when I stepped on my cat's tail at three in the morning this past spring, resulting in lovely reminders of why I clip claws and why I no longer care about light-flare eyeaches.Three tubs broke when the movers got lazy and dropped boxes of glass Christmas bubbles and glass storage instead of setting them down. Lost a lovely giant, thick-walled pretzel jar and a working seltzer pump in the same box. All the other Luminarc glasses, also in the pretzel-seltzer box, made it unrattled. One tub broke for unknown reasons while it was being stored not touching anything but the shelf. One tub made it.One small glass broke when someone picked up the dishcloth under the glass instead of the one next to the glass. The new caps fit the old tubs and both heights of old glasses. The caps are perfect for several uses including but not limited to coasters for these glasses, thawing fruit in the fridge, preventing the transformation of iced coffee and similar into fridge-juice, preventing leaves from falling into your apple cider, and preventing inquisitive - and thirsty - cats from drinking your bedside water. They're lovely, sturdy glasses that will last you forever. They SAY microwave safe but I don't like to chance it. They're glass after all and we all know what happens to not-so-perfect glass when in a revolving microwave. No need to reorder while picking glass shards out of the walls of your kitchen - and maybe you if you're unlucky enough.

Fits the Bill
I saw these on a YouTube video being used for pre-made morning smoothies. They work great. Also good for 'to-go' drinks (bring a straw).

Love these glasses!
Got my first introduction to these glasses when I purchased only 2 from William Sonoma some years back. They were approx. $6 ea. Pricey, but I knew they'd be perfect for my intended purpose. We got so much use out of them as a family, the only complaint was that there weren't enough to go around. A couple of years later I was on the hunt for more, only the price went up a couple of dollars since I had last purchased them. So happy to find them in a set of 4 on Amazon.com! What doesn't Amazon have, anyway?! Such a great buy at that! I love, love, love these glasses! The lids are super secure and never leak. Perfect glasses for my chaotic, yet organized brain! Our family uses these for smoothies, vegetable juices and protein drinks. Especially helpful to save time on mornings when I'm on the run. I can stuff the ingredients in the 20 oz glasses the evening before and dump in my Vitamix the following morning...perfect time saver. On the weekends, I can blend up a few smoothies or my favorite juices and have them throughout the day so I am not blending and juicing all day long. Did I mention I love, love, love these glasses?!

Terrific all-purpose glasses
I love these glasses! They’re nice looking, sturdy, and they have a little weight to them, almost like Pyrex. They are larger than average drinking glasses, and have a broad base that prevents any wobbling. They’re also quite durable. I accidentally dropped one on a wood floor and it didn’t break. It was only when one fell on a ceramic tile floor that it broke.A point about breakage: when the glass broke, it was mostly in big chunks that were easy to pick up, and not a million little shards like some thinner, cheaper glasses. I consider that a big plus, for safety as well as convenience. These particular glasses also come with lids, which I appreciate. Sometimes I don’t finish a drink and want to put it back in the fridge. The lids are great at keeping any lingering food odors out of the liquid. They also make the cups good for storing things when necessary.I bought a set of these about 10 years ago, but they gradually disappeared as friends and family walked off with them. So glad I found them again on Amazon.

Permanent Replacement for my Plastic Stadium Cup
I've always liked the size of plastic stadium cups for my beverages; large enough to hold ice and beverage, fits in my hand nicely, the fat, squat shape making it a bit hard to accidently tip over. The problem with plastic is that after a while they cracked and leaked; also plastic cups seemed a bit 'cheap' looking to me. These glass jars are very sturdy (slightly heavy), fluted with nice rounded lip; perfect for drinking my favorite beverage from and they look great. The 4 piece set I received also came with plastic lids, which could be used to keep your beverage from spilling or using these jars for storing items. These should last forever and I would recommend and also would buy again.

Very nice cups for storage, but Not packaged well
Let me start off with this. The seller I bought these from didn’t do a good job at packaging. When I opened the cardboard box, the item box was opened with the glasses exposed. So I’m taking off a star. Thankfully everything was intact. Could of really used more packaging materials. These glasses seem to be made very well. I especially like the design of them. I’ve seen reviews saying they don’t hold as many ounces as advertised. That is false. I brewed 16 ounces of coffee and have room to spare.I make my coffee the night before so it’s not diluted. Because I only drink iced coffee. I wanted something with a lid to store in the fridge every night.I also plan to use this to store loose tea. I also plan to use these for drinking beverages. So it’s nice to be able to get 4 of these for a reasonable price.I hope to have these for a very long time. I really do like them so far. The craftsmanship seems to be there.
