Useful
Great idea behind the product but the handle is Designed so that you can bend it and won’t need to flip down your visors to hold the shade in place, but it doesn’t always work out

Does not fit in Chrysler Pacifica
This is not tight like the picture shows. The ends are all loose and useless if you want an edge to edge sun screen. If you have an above dash screen for you maps or Apple car play, the rod will get in the way.

Not made for trucks
Great for cars or small suv. Not made for larger SUV’s or Trucks. The width is about 4 inches to short, need an extra 2 inches on each side, but will help more than not having it.

Very narrow and to tall
I tried this on 6 different vehicles, it was to narrow in all of them….. it didn’t work, as it should in any vehicle I tried. It need substantially more R&D

Works good
This works and stays in place but is somewhat hard to take back down. Other than that is a great product.

Great idea! Works well - recommended!
So, here I am at age 61, retired after working 35+ years. During my working years I worked in two large Government headquarters buildings that held about 300 people each. Although the buildings were different they both had the same large asphalt parking lot behind them, with nary a tree in sight! That meant in the warm East Coast Summer months you were smart to use some type of windshield cover to protect your dashboard from cracking and the interior of the vehicle from getting scorching hot. Back in 1995 I was at a computer fair and Microsoft was promoting Windows 95 by giving away cardboard Windows 95 sunshades. they were basically a large piece of cardboard folded into an accordion style with the Windows 95 logo emblazoned upon it. I used that sun-shield for years well until the Windows 95 logo had all but faded away. Now fast-forward 30 years and here I am with a new car (Ford Mustang) and in need of a sun-shade. I cam,e across this novel idea on amazon - a sun-shade that folded like a small umbrella! What a concept! the outward facing side is covered in a silver metallic fabric top provide the optimum in reflecting the sun's damaging rays. It opens exactly like an umbrella and features a rather large "V" shaped cut-out to allow for your rear-view mirror. Even though my car is a small two-door coupe I went on the Ford website and found the inside "Shoulder Room" measurement since Ford doesn't list the size of the windshield I figured the Shoulder Room measurement would be pretty close. Surprisingly my coupe required the larger-sized windshield cover. So be careful to measure your windshield before ordering! Also when the item is first removed from the box it's encased in a faux leather sleeve/holder. When you take it out for the first time be sure and look closely at how it's folded otherwise you'll never get it packed tightly enough to go back into that faux leather sleeve. Many cars, mine included, have an extended pocket in the doors to accommodate small umbrellas so I discarded the sleeve and just tucked the shield away into the door pocket. Also, it's worth noting, this is constructed like any other umbrella so the folding metal rods are somewhat fragile so care should be taken when opening and closing it and NEVER open it outdoors otherwise you're liable to have it fold in on itself and bend the metal rods, just like any other umbrella. Otherwise it is a nice, handy tool to keep your car cool and protect your dash from cracking if you have to leave your car parked outside for any length of time. I gave it four starts out of five simply because when retracted it takes a lot of effort to fold it tightly enough to fit into the supplied storage sleeve - if you don't need the sleeve save yourself the frustration and just toss it, like I did, otherwise GREAT product! Recommended!

So far so good.
Update: It has been a few weeks now, and the shade still works, and it works better than the two round shades that I had, that are the same color. At first I babied it, thinking it might break, but now I just use it but not stupidly, and it still works. I think it will continue to work as long as I don't go full on hurry. That is how you will break it. Take the extra 3 seconds or so, and it works well.It made my car recorder (camera) reset because I tucked the shade behind it and the recorder over heated. If I don't use the right-side visor to hold the shade (where the camera is) and I don't need to, the car recorder is fine. I think that was a one time thing that the recorder was in direct sun on a 100 plus Fahrenheit day, with the shade reflecting on to it. Leaving the right visor off of the sunshade lets a little air flow around the electronics and they are fine. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. This sunshade came in a generic carboard box, with very little information on it. Everything was intact, and worked. It is basically an umbrella, and you use it the same way. The first time I opened it, it took a minute to make all the parts move - and I didn't want to break the shade, so I didn't force it. Once opened, the shade opens and closes so much better. It fits really well on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra, which has a big windshield. It works as well as any sunshade, but you don't have to fight with the shade, visors, and folding. The case that comes with it is a plastic tube that smells like plasticizers. The shade itself does not smell. Getting the shade in the storage tube is a pain, but I would never use it anyway, as the Velcro retention strap works fine. The only concern I have is that the complicated folding mechanism may break. I have been careful with it, and have not had a problem. It is quick to use once it is broken in, and fits perfectly in my car. So far, I really like it.
